The Writer
The Writer is an exploratory short film highlighting the problems of depression and addiction within the mind of a creative, written and filmed in one hour from conception to completion by Alan Brooke. The film was edited and created later that night by Claire Toomey making the total completion time only 3 hours.
By using this method and keeping the audio (on a mobile phone) relatively none doctored we hope to have achieved a grungy and gritty feel to the piece, creating an unnerving atmospheric aura to a delicate subject matter.
This film is set moments after the writers first counselling session.
