Tricia Klassen Therapy

My therapeutic approach is strength-based and trauma-informed.  I approach my clients with the belief that they carry inherent wisdom about their own lives and needs, and will benefit from my curiosity, respect and validation.

My goal is for clients to develop a stronger sense of self-knowledge, self-compassion, and personal wellness.  This may be achieved through exploring and altering thought patterns and personal narratives, exploring one’s relationship with emotions, becoming more in-tuned to one’s body sensations, exploring attachment and relationship patterns, and considering which coping strategies and behavioral patterns promote wellness or are constricting.

I draw upon both behavioral therapeutic approaches (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy) as well as various other therapeutic approaches (i.e. Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory).
