Carly D. Weckstein

Carly D. Weckstein (she/they) is a Los Angeles-based theatre director, intimacy choreographer, sex educator and community facilitator. She creates at the intersections of theatre, sexuality, gender, community, mental health, trauma-sensitivity and social justice. She currently works as a freelance intimacy director and educator for theatre companies and university theatre programs in Southern California, as well as intimacy coordinating the occasional indie film. They work for AWI as the lead facilitator for Our Bodies Our Minds, and a facilitator for Movies for Mental Health. Carly is a passionate advocate for artists, championing communication and consent as an essential part of creative collaboration. She believes that through art, we can use both the process and the product to create new paradigms through which artists and audiences alike can find belonging and be activated for change.
