Do you have (or want to make) a short film that explores the intersection of physical health and mental health?

Art With Impact is partnering with the AB Korkor Foundation to award three filmmakers exploring these important topics. We are seeking film projects—up to 5 minutes in length—in any genre, that explore the connection between mental health and physical activity. Film topics may either be interpretive of mental health, or address it directly. Some examples of physical health to consider include—but are not limited to!—the following:

  • Nutrition
  • Running / Jogging
  • Outdoor Activities
  • Strength Training
  • Dance
  • Yoga
  • Hygiene
  • Sleep / Relaxation

Each winner will receive:

  • First place: $2,000
  • Second place: $1,000
  • Third place: $500

Art With Impact and the AB Korkor Foundation view short film as an important art form and springboard for young talent. As such, we do not place any formal restrictions on submissions, and will consider all genres and types of short films, including submissions utilizing original footage, shared footage, photo stills, music, essays, screenplays, original artwork and more. There is no fee for submissions.

The world premiere of these short films will take place in April 2022 and will be joined by our esteemed storytellers in an Art With Impact community event.

  • Submissions must either be interpretive of mental health, or address it directly.
  • Submissions must be 5 minutes or less. Films longer than five (5) minutes will not be considered.
  • Submissions may not advertise any product, service, brand, or other commercial interest.
  • Submissions must be added to the Mental Health Short Film group on Vimeo and the URL for the video must be included in the Entry Form. Only submissions with complete entry forms (including Vimeo URL) will be considered.
  • Participants may submit only one version of a given project. However, any participant may submit more than one project, and up to three in a given month. A separate Entry Form must be completed for each submission.
  • Jurors who are also filmmakers may submit work, but only during months in which they are not serving as a juror for the competition.
  • Past winners are required to wait at least one year before re-submitting to the competition.
  • Filmmaker agrees that all submitted films may be used by Art With Impact for educational and outreach activities and the winning film may be used by Art With Impact, AB Korkor Foundation, and affiliated organizations in any relevant programming in perpetuity.
  • Filmmakers are responsible for securing any and all necessary licenses for any third party content, including footage, music, fonts, artwork, and any other asset used in film production.

  • Films will be judged by six people representing Art With Impact and AB Korkor Foundation, including filmmakers, mental health professionals, and college students.
  • To select the winner each month, jurors respond to the eight questions found in the contest FAQ. User comments / audience popularity may be taken into consideration in the final selection but will not determine the winner.
  • Submissions will be reviewed on a monthly basis, until we have identified a winner.

  1. Upload your film to our Vimeo channel.
  2. Fill out and submit the submission form*.
